Former Chief Imam of the Apo legislative quarters mosque, Sheikh Nuru Khalid, has said that his sack by the Mosque’s committee was a necessary price he had to pay for identifying with the sufferings masses and speaking truth to power.

Platforms Africa reports that hours after the announcement of his sack as Chief Imam of the Apo legislative quarters mosque, Sheikh Nuru Khalid has secured a new appointment.

Breaking the new in an interview in Abuja, the Islamic cleric said he has been appointed by the Management Committee of a new Jum’at Mosque behind the CBN Quarters, Abuja.

Sheikh Khalid also spoke on the circumstances that led to his removal as the Chief Imam of the National Assembly.

Sheikh Muhammad Nuru Khalid, former Chief Imam of the Apo legislative quarters mosque, says the termination of his appointment by the mosque’s committee was a necessary price he had to pay for identifying with the sufferings masses and speaking truth to power.

Sheikh Khalid said this in an interview in Abuja on Monday night, April 4, adding that he was undeterred by his sack.
